JibJab just keeps getting better.

Impressively and effectively showing off the complete and utter uselessness of Twitter, comes this stupid thing.

I installed iCalFix recently based on a suggestion by Alex. Ah, so much better. Apple nails most things, but this is a dumb oversight that thankfully has an easy fix.

I’m down at South By Southwest today and tomorrow. Just got in this morning, and attended Interactive. A few good sessions, but I didn’t learn too much. Met some really cool people though, including the guys from the Austin Bootstrap Network.
I’m about to hit the hay, since we have a big PocketFuzz / TechStars party tonight across from the main conference venue. Apparantly they’ve been going til 4 or 5 in the morning every night. I think I shall not quite make it so late. ![]()

Ok, I watched this. I figured better to throw away $3.99 on pay per view at home than $20 at the theater when it was out.
But it was funny. I liked it. Not for everybody, that’s for sure. I was surprised, and laughed a little, which I was not expecting at all for some reason.

Ok, I’ve been using Twitter for a couple of days now, and it’s kind of fun. I was showing it to Niel yesterday. Like everyone he’s been hearing about it, and wondering if it was as stupid as it sounds. I showed it to him, and like most, he quickly concluded that it was, in fact, horribly stupid.
I’m running twitterific on my Mac, and it gives me a nice chain of messages from my friends telling me what they’re doing right now. I can’t help but thinking that this is how Dodgeball should have been in the first place. I can easily see what my friends are doing, where they’re hanging out, etc using Twitter. It’s more generic, and easier to use.
So will I keep twittering? For now. I’m heading to SXSW and i’ll use my phone to send tweets from there (which I understand will appear on a big board, woo hoo). After that I’ll decide if it’s worth anything. It has been fun to see what people I know are up to - in some cases sparking conversation or laughter.

Ok, I’ve been using twitter for a day via Twitterific. I’ve heard so much about it, that I just had to check it out.
It’s kind of neat and fun. They’ve made it very easy (via IM, web, or Twitterific on my desktop) to easily say what I’m doing. It takes almost no time, which is very key.
What I get back is a running log of what my friends are up to (I only have two friends on Twitter so far). It’s pretty neat to see what they’re doing all day long. It has very little practical value, but it’s just connecting me with them a little bit more.
You know how sometimes you put the city you’re visiting or the mood you’re in into your IM client so your friends can see what you’re doing/thinking? That’s all twitter really is. Another way to think of it is “broadcast one way IM.”
Here’s what I (and my friends) have been up to lately. Don’t forget to scroll down to see how exciting our lives really are. I have no idea how long I’ll keep twittering. If you are twittering, drop me a note and let’s connect.

It’s been in the 60s this week here in Boulder. That’s really been nice considering the unusual snowy, cold winter we’ve had. My new friend Ben thinks it’s been a typical winter - it hasn’t. I’ve dug my car out twice this year, having never done so before in 12 years here.
I decided to work from home today, and have been sitting in the sun. I am feeling re-energized. Can’t wait for summer and tennis.

I’m seeing a few incoming links to my personal blog (this one) that look like they’re more interested in technology or startup stuff. If your’e reading my personal blog and all you’re seeing are posts about squirrels running around and stuff, and thinking to yourself “is this really all this guy talks about?” then the answer is no!
So just in case…
My blog on startups in Colorado is here.
TechStars (mentorship driven seed funding for startups) is over here.
If you stay tuned here (please do!) you’ll get mostly personal random stuff.
